Entry no.1 - First Entry and Mission Statement ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

hello, true believers࿔! welcome to Pulp! Records. i would just like to start this project by saying that, over the last year and a half, i've had the divine pleasure of meeting some of the most amazing artists, people, and most of all friends, in the underground music scene along the east coast of Australia. i feel like i've finally found a pond that i can belong to. a tribe.

the world can be an awful place at times, but im certain the good outweighs the bad. we find beauty in the simplest of things. watching the D.I.Y. scene culture flourish is truly an amazing sight. i think we're hoping to create more of a "D.I.O." (do it ourselves) culture, helping out one another, and creating a community of like-minded people in the name of music, writing, journalism and punk rock.

i would like to think of Pulp! to become a sort of; 'independent, archival record label', eventually supplying services and aid to some awesome and neat bands.

but for now, i think growing the community through writing about the scene is cool. at the moment, building Pulp! around the post-hardcore scene that is starting to emerge would be nice, as well as documenting the emerging scene, and eventually building connections to start distributing music with bands under Pulp! which we can archive and showcase in one destination. this is with the intent of creating a symbiotic relationship between bands/ artists and the label.

also i wanted to make clear that Pulp! stands by this:
NO RACISM
NO SEXISM
NO HOMOPHOBIA
NO TRANSPHOBIA
NO VIOLENCE
NO HATRED OF ANY KIND

we just want peace and love. the ability to express ourselves. the freedom to share, to learn, to curate, to be apart of something bigger than ourselves. to uplift, to bloom, to create. and if it fails, oh well, at least it was an experience. and frank said: "thats life". life can be bum. but it can also be beautiful. its better to burn out, than to fade away. butt, there is more yet to be seen ! hopefully this can maybe inspire some people who maybe feel the same way.

thank you for taking the time to read  :3

(p.s. if this resonates with any reader, and you feel like maybe wanting to write, help document the scene, take photos or be apart of Pulp in anyway, please reach out)

also, this is a picture taken by the wonderful Sarah Logie of me and my best friend, beau, jamming an inpromtu screamo set with our friend Jaina at a Mt. Nadir house gig. nothing ever came of it, but it was the coolest little time, and i like to think of it as the proper start when beau and i started to really take our music seriously and run w/it.
